So last week was one HUGE #FAIL for me in my menu. I did NOTHING on my list. Seriously. At all. So I'm going to try again. I am doing this cause I'm trying to stick to a budget. I will now be getting only so much money a month for my extra spending {aka my food/lunch, clothing, fun things, etc} and I realized I don't want all that money to go to lunch or even a quick dinner on my way home...I want pretty and tangible things...not food.
Monday:
-Lunch - canned ravioli's
-Dinner - Pioneer Woman's Sloppy Joes! {they LOOK delish}
Tuesday:
-Lunch - leftovers from Sunday night's bbq
-Dinner - my chicken, veggies & jasmine rice dish
Wednesday:
-Lunch - leftovers from Tuesday's dinner
-Dinner - pork loin, mashed potatoes and salad
Thursday:
-Lunch - PB&J sandwich
-Dinner - baked chicken, mac 'n cheese, & some veggie
Friday:
-Lunch - Go OUT to eat! YAY!
-Dinner - Most likely snag something on my way home
So there you go...Here's hoping I stick to it this time. ! :)
4 brilliant insights:
I do the same thing, make a menu so I am not spending too much money. It's okay to go off track sometimes. We all do it! Good luck with trying to stick to it this week.
How smart to make a menu, these options sound good! I should do this to be frugal and save some money, hope it works out for you this week darlin!
haha, i love it. it's so funny cuz I just atttempted to do this last wk for the first time too! i stuck to it for 3/7 days so I just carried it over to this wk. Good luck!
Also i'm curious to know what ur chicken and veggie dish is...u should post the receipe. Anyway, cheers! have a great wk.
I've been married 42 years, 45,990 meals if you cooked every day 365 days, three times a day, this April, and believe me...everyone makes menus and then gets short circuited by life. You are a flexible, creative person so, of course, you will find it hard to stay on track. Anyone that works full time has to make meals that are quick and easy. On Thursday night I'd nix the Chicken and just make mac n cheese and a vegetable. And when you have that pork loin, depending on how you are cooking it, I'd add a baked or new potato and get off my tired feet. Mashed potatoes are a lot of work. You go girl!
